Spray Tanning 101

Plan ahead ! You will not be able to rinse off for 8-12 hours depending on what formula we chose for your custom tan.

Make sure all mani/pedis, facials, waxing or massages are done 24-48 hours prior to your appointment. Refrain from sweating and getting wet till AFTER your 1st rinse to avoid streaks and or spotting.

DO NOT Sunburn! your tan will peel off. You must be completely healed from sunburn before your spray.

DO NOT use self-tanner for at least a week prior to your appointment. Remaining tanner will create an uneven tan. exfoliator to remove your remaining tan is sold in store.

If it is raining, please come prepared for the weather with long baggy clothes, umbrella and closed toed shoes. if you show up and you are not prepared for the weather you will be asked to sign a wavier.

                                      24 hours before your tan

 Shower, shave and wash your hair DO NOT apply makeup, lotion, or deodorant after your shower.

​

For natural color and even tan use Norvell sunless exfoliator this will polish and prep your PH of the skin, while lifting dead skin without drying out your skin. We also have Norvell exfoliating mitts for sale in store. If using your daily exfoliator, please make sure it is not oil based or leave a residue on the skin. This will result in streaking and or spotting of your sunless tan. Pay close attention to neck, knees and elbows when exfoliating.

Wear loose fitting clothing

Be sure not to have any makeup, lotion or deodorant on

Watch the weather

Plan the rest of your day accordingly

Your 1st rinse should be with lukewarm water ONLY!!!! Wait as long as possible before fully showering with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Use lukewarm water for about 3 minutes or until the water runs clear. You will not be washing off your tan you will only be rinsing off the cosmetic bronzer. The DHA will continue to develops for 12- 24 hours after your 1st rinse. Avoid soaps shampoos etc. for a full 24 hrs after your 1st rinse. PAT DRY ONLY, do not rub with a towel this will cause streaking.  Use Norvell's shower cleanser to maintain a perfect tan while helping keep the skin moisturized. When shaving use a razor WITHOUT a moister strip. Always end your shower with cool water to close pores. Moisturize every morning and night. We sell specialized lotions for post tan to help moisturize and maintain your tan for that long lasting and even fading of your tan.
